Food Science Meets Nutrition: Synergy for the Public Good

In partnership with the American Dietetic Association, the International Food Information Council Foundation has developed an ADA-approved CPE online program “Food Science Meets Nutrition: Synergy for the Public Good.”

If you are Registered Dietitian or a Dietetic Technician, Registered, simply follow the instructions below to earn one CPE credit hour following your successful completion of the CPE Questions.

Program Objectives:

  1. List the top three influences on consumer food choices.
  2. Identify the functions of fats in foods.
  3. Discuss the role of nutrition science in influencing the supply of food choices available to consumers today.
  4. Identify a barrier to incorporating healthful dietary components, such as omega-3 fatty acids, into food products.
  5. Discuss one potential opportunity for dietetic professionals to influence the availability of healthful foods for consumers.
