October 6 & 7 2021

Agricultural Technology and Food Salon

According to the National Science Foundation, women comprise only 43 percent of the U.S. workforce for scientists and engineers (under 75 years old).

To highlight the importance of seeing women in our current work force making strong impacts on food science, public health and agriculture we are excited to present this event just ahead of the International Day of the Girl Child — the International Food Information Council will convene several women who are impacting science, food systems and the public in order to present you with IFIC’s first Agricultural Technology and Food Salon.

2 Day Event

8 Speakers

6 Sessions

This two-day event will be offered in a format that is “webinar fatigue-friendly”— each of our six session speakers will be given 30 minutes to present and then we will have 15 minutes for Q & A. The morning session will be followed by a lengthy break that will allow for attendees to do other work, have lunch, or anything else needed. Our morning sessions will also be opened up by brief remarks by two women that have played notable roles in the public health space by serving on different Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committees in the past.
