Vice President, Communications
Silvia Dumitrescu is the Vice President, Communications, for the International Food Information Council, working with subject-matter experts and the communications team to raise awareness and improve understanding of food science from farm to fork. She leads internal and external communications, including digital strategy and media relations, as well as strategic engagement initiatives. Additionally, Silvia leverages her previous work in technology and innovation to lead the food production expert team.
Formerly, Silvia was a global strategist for the Center for Creative Economy, working to promote the importance of science, technology, and innovation as economic development engines. Silvia has experience in both the public and private sectors, including being part of the executive team for one of the leading industry associations in the Washington, DC area.
Silvia holds an MBA from American University and an executive certification from Columbia Business School. She shares her expertise with global audiences and has recently participated as a speaker at the Global Food Safety Initiative in Seattle, the Brazilian Society for Food and Nutrition Congress in Sao Paolo and the PR News Media Relations Conference in Washington, D.C.
